- About 60 single-choice questions on short academic texts with graphs, tables and formulas, from every subject area.
- Timing
- 90 minutes per module, with a 30-minute break between them.
- Rules
- On screen at a test centre. No calculator, no notes and no paper.
- Result
- A dMAT score from 0 to 200 for each module, plus a percentile rank. The certificate goes with your APS application.

The book
One MasterBook for both modules
The FLC dMAT MasterBook teaches each part of the test in four levels, then rehearses the whole test day. It follows the same teaching framework as FLC's IELTS, CELPIP and German MasterBooks.

dMAT FAQ
What is the dMAT?
The dMAT (digital Master Assessment Test) is a study aptitude test for international applicants to master's programmes in Germany. It is run by g.a.s.t. in Bochum. For APS India it has two modules: a Core Module of logical reasoning tasks and a General Academic Module of questions on short academic texts.
Do I need the dMAT for APS?
Yes, if your bachelor's degree is in engineering, commerce, accounting, finance, economics, business or management and you plan to start a German master's in summer semester 2027 or later. APS India asks for the dMAT certificate with your application. Check the current rules on aps-india.de, or ask Future Link.
Can I use a calculator or take notes?
No. Calculators, notes and notepaper are not allowed. The FLC dMAT MasterBook trains every calculation for mental arithmetic, with numbers chosen the way the real test chooses them.
Does the book cover both modules?
Yes. The FLC dMAT MasterBook covers the Core Module (Figure Sequences, Mathematical Equations and Latin Squares) and the General Academic Module, with an Academic Toolkit of refreshers and six full practice tests.
Can FLC predict my dMAT score?
No. The official conversion of correct answers to the 0โ200 score is not published, so FLC reports your number of correct answers and the level you have reached. Your official score comes only from g.a.s.t.
