Canada Visitor Visa
Canada Visitor Visa, Super Visa & Multiple-Entry TRV โ backed by IRCC expertise.
About the Canada Visitor Visa
A Canadian Visitor Visa (Temporary Resident Visa or TRV) lets Indian nationals travel to Canada for tourism, family visit, business meetings or short courses (under 6 months). It is issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Most applications are filed online via the IRCC Secure Account / GCKey portal. Biometrics are submitted at VFS Global India after fee payment. Decisions average 20โ60 days depending on the visa office and applicant profile.
For parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or PRs, the Super Visa is a special long-stay visitor permit allowing stays of up to 5 years per entry, with multi-entry validity up to 10 years.
Visa Types
Single-Entry Visitor TRV
Standard tourist or family-visit visa for a defined trip โ typically up to 6 months stay.
Multiple-Entry TRV

Super Visa (Parents / Grandparents)
Long-stay visa for parents/grandparents of Canadian citizens & PRs โ up to 5-year stay per entry, valid 10 years.

Processing, Biometrics & Validity
Visitor TRV: 20โ60 days from biometrics (varies by VAC New Delhi/Chandigarh/Mumbai). Super Visa: 8โ12 weeks. Premium files filed via authorised representatives may move faster.
Mandatory for ages 14โ79 โ fingerprints + photo at VFS Global Canada Visa Application Centre. Valid for 10 years across all Canadian visa applications.
Interviews are rare for TRV/Super Visa. IRCC may request additional documents (case-specific) instead of in-person interviews.
Multiple-entry TRV: usually valid 10 years or until passport expiry. Each stay up to 6 months โ extension possible by filing for visitor record before expiry. Super Visa: 5-year stay per entry, multi-entry validity up to 10 years.
Invitation & Insurance Requirements
Invitation Letter Rules
For family-visit cases, the Canadian host (citizen/PR) provides a notarised Letter of Invitation including their full name, status in Canada, address, your relationship, purpose & duration of visit, accommodation arrangement, and confirmation of financial responsibility. For Super Visa, the LOI is mandatory and must include child/grandchild's income proof above the Low-Income Cut-Off (LICO).
Travel Insurance
Optional for regular visitors but strongly recommended (โน2,000โ5,000 cover). MANDATORY for Super Visa โ minimum CAD 100,000 medical insurance from an IRCC-approved Canadian insurer, valid for at least 1 year, covering hospitalisation, healthcare and repatriation.
